MIREILLE, large, original bronze sculpture by the French artist Hippolyte Moreau, signed on the base; Hip. Moreau. Very beautiful and detailed. France, 2nd half of the 19th century. Weight: 8. 6 kg Height: 59 cm. Diameter pedestal: 18 cm. Hippolyte Moreau (1832- 1927) was the second son of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Moreau He was trained in his father's studio. Moved to Paris to be apprenticed to François Jouffroy at the École des beaux-arts. From 1863 to 1914 he exhibited at the famous Salon. He won medals on the world exhibitions from 1878 and 1900. Most of his works can be found in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Dijon. Registered shipping. The photos are part of the description. Will be packaged with care before shipping.
