Diptych depicting the pietà and Saint John the Baptist. Tempera on panel. The pictorial quality of these panels is undeniable. We can see it in details such as Saint John the Baptist´s expression, his delicate features, as well as those of the Virgin Mary and Jesus, in spite of the flaws in the panel. On the back is a period inscription which could be the signature which appears to indicate ¿Fernado y Ávila ? Also, on both sides, there is the same illegible word which appears to begin with "Com".
One panel size: 19 x 15'5 cm. Open size: 23,5 x 41 cm. Open closed: 23,5 x 20,5 cm.
