Historic Identified US Army Air Force Flight Bag
A great history with this flight bag that belonged to Staff Sergeant Robert L. Allman who flew on the B-17 42-30863 "My Devotion" during WWII. The ship was damaged on November 5th 1943 coming back from a raid over Gelsenkirchen Germany. All the crew including Allman had to bail out over North Suffolk UK due to the damage sustained by flak on the raid. Allman flew with the 388th Bomb Group, 53rd Bomb Squadron as a waist gunner.
