Splendid and luxurious table lamp by Fontana. Arte, model N. 2280/Bis, from the 1970s. A masterpiece of Italian mid-century designed in 1954, the 2280/Bis table lamp keeps the modern shape intact and has a unique and elegant line. Description: polished brass structure, bottom diffuser in sand-blasted white glass. The BIS is characterised by a glossy brass frame. Black opal glass lampshade, sand-blasted and varnished black on the inside. Black cable, switch and plug. The cable and electric wiring are original and in working order. The lamp is absolutely perfect. No scratches or dents. See photos. Designer: Historical Archive Fontana Arte. Founded in Milan as Fontana Arte in 1932 by Luigi Fontana and Giò Ponti and specialised in the craftsmanship of glass and the production of furnishing items. It is famous for its craftsmanship of curved crystal and for the production of lighting equipment, over the years becoming one of the most important names of international design. Size. 38 x 43 cm.
