Historical large cast iron street model, oversized Barber Pole that once sat on the market square in old downtown Houston, Texas. A letter accompanying this Barber Pole reads "The following cast iron Barber Pole was purchased by J.D. Maples in 1998. J.D. reported that he bought it from an individual that stated it originally stood outside a "Barber Saloon" on the Market Square in old downtown Houston, Tx. in the early 1920s. These were some of the first metal poles manufactured from 1919-1928, after the first "wooden" poles. I painstakingly restored it back to the correct, original colors." Letter is signed by the man who did the restoration. Pole measures 15" diameter column x 93" T. with 14" diameter lighted shade. 12" Square cast iron base. BUDDY KING COLLECTION
