Holmes Rolston D.D (1900-1977) was Editor in Chief of the Presbyterian Church, U.S., Board of Christian Education for 20 years. From 1934-1969 he wrote adult Sunday School lessons which were widely used in Presbyterian and other denominations. He gave the Sprunt Lectures at Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia (now Union Presbyterian Seminary), published as The Social Message of the Apostle Paul. The book won a Religious Book Club of the Month Award.
