Holyland Redware Vessel w/ Handles - TL Tested

Ancient Near East, Holyland, Bronze Age, ca. 2100 to 1100 BCE. An elegant pottery vessel presenting a narrow, flat base, a conical bottom, a wide, carinated hip, a gently rounded shoulder that tapers inward, and a circular flared rim, all enveloped in a vibrant red slip. A pair of handles projects upwards from opposite sides of the hip, each displaying an arch-like, triangular form. Size: 6.7" Diameter x 6.1" H (17 cm x 15.5 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available for $50 to the buyer. Please contact us to request.

Condition Report: Repair to area of rim, with small chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and a few small pitting holes to body and handles, with light encrustations, and very minor fading to scattered areas of exterior color. Great earthen deposits and light manganese blooms throughout. Old inventory label beneath foot. TL holes to base and rim.
