Seven years after Baker's death, she continues to be celebrated with this "exceptional charity gala" to benefit the J. Baker Foundation. The event was held at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, where Baker became an instant sensation with her performance in La Revue Nègre. Highlights of the evening include: giant screen projections of extracts from Baker's life; a performance by the J. Stanlowa Children's Ballet Company, featuring 40 racially diverse children performers; live music led by soprano Barbara Hendricks; and dancers from l'Opéra de Paris. At center, the star continues to shine bright in an expressionistic depiction by Moretti. Rare!
