Originally only for the Japanese market this motorcycle was conceived because, at that time in Japan, only motorcycles of up to 700cc were allowed and hence the Goldwing could not be sold in Honda’a home market and the GL700 Wing Interstate was born. \r

When I bought this bike it had already been imported into England, when I moved to France I brought it with me and has French papers. \r
\r
Originally only available in silver or Wineberry red I decided, during the frame and body restoration, to change the colour to green. \r
\r
The restoration took place 14 years or 7000kms ago (N. B. the speedometer has been replaced, the correct kilometrage is unknown) , I have used it sparingly since. \r
\r
During the restoration I made a few changes. I fitted a Goldwing GL1100 top box as this suits the bike better than the original narrower version, I fitted a power point to the fairing and installed additional gauges. \r
\r
The speakers in the fairing are not connected. \r
\r
Included in the sale are many spares parts including engine and gearbox, exhausts, panels, forks, front wheel as well as many smaller parts. It would be advisable to bring a trailer. \r

Points to note: \r
• New battery\r
• The left hand carburettor intake has a crack in the rubber but does not affect performance\r
• The left hand light switch is slightly cracked\r
• The rev counter does not work, it needs a new cable\r
• Recent fluid service\r
• The rubber seal on the top box should be replaced\r
• The GL700 specific panels are not fitted as they are fragile. \r
• Registered as a GL650 as the French system did not recognise a GL700\r
\r

The bike works starts, stops, shifts etc. as it should. \r
