Velma Zeena (Native American, Hopi, contemporary) ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A handmade pottery vessel in the form of a bird with a crest upon its head and black and red geometric motifs on the sides. The underside is signed by the artist with some Hopi symbols. The bird may represent a chicken or a more traditional roadrunner which also has a crested head. Size: 7.75" L x 4" W x 3.5" H (19.7 cm x 10.2 cm x 8.9 cm)
