One of only two copies known. The large metal-cuts are from Kerver’s “small set,” most of which he copied from the second set by Pigouchet that was so widely imitated by his Parisian contemporaries. Only one copy recorded in ISTC, at the Musée Dobrée in Nantes, France; Moreau cites a single copy in the Repertoire...Morgand. Bohatta (1924) 731; ISTC ih00412370; Moreau I 76: 59; not in Brunet or Lacombe. See Davies, Murray French, p. 305.

Quarto (204 x 143mm). Printed on paper. 92 leaves. 18 large cuts plus printer’s device, and 48 smaller cuts in text, some repeated, of Evangelists, scenes of the Passion and saints, each page within multi-piece historiated and ornamental border, some with criblé background, initials in red, a few in blue (preliminary and final leaves lightly soiled and spotted, a few initials faded). Modern cherry red velvet; modern quarter morocco chemise and slipcase – acquired from Librairie Lardanchet, Paris, 31 July 1979.
