Horev - Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch - Frankfurt, 1899
Horev - Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch - Frankfurt, 1899
The source of each and every mitzva from the commandments of the Torah, the flavors of the mitzvah, and how the flavor of the mitzva is evident in all the details of the mitzvah, until the last of the judges. The monumental book of Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch.
Here is the author's first essay. The book was ready in the year 1834, when the author was only 27 years old. While he was still the rabbi of Oldenburg. However, no Jewish publisher was found who would agree to take on the risk of printing this great book, in light of the sad state of German Jewry. That's why he turned to a non-Jewish publisher in Altoona who didn't know the Jewish market. But he was also worried about his money, so he asked Rabbi Hirsch to first publish a small counter for the experiment. That's why Rabbi Hirsch published his famous book 'Northern Fees' in 2016 in Altoona. And in light of his success, the publisher agreed to publish his current book Horev in 2017.
The edition in front of us was published by Kauffmann in 1899, 522 pages, hard cover, 980 gr. In good condition: the spine of the cover is missing, probable wear to the cover, interior: yellow/brown paper, few stains.
