Starr, New York" and "Made in France", has a pierced brass filigree center and sub alarm dial below; brass 8 day spring driven movement has a platform lever escapement, half hour strike on a coiled gong, hour repeater button on the top of the case and alarm mechanism ringing on the same gong. Brass case with hinged handle on top, filigree decorated edges with fluted corner columns, has enamel decorated panels on the sides with full standing portraits of robed women on a deep red background, beveled glass on rear door, front and on the top exposing the escapement. Running, striking, repeats and alarm functions, no damage to the enamel or glass, gilt finish has some wear; has key. 6.75 in. high x 4.25 in. wide x 3.75 in. deep.
