畫者略傳：胡宗仁，字彭舉，號長白，上元（今南京）人，隱於冶城山下，老而貪貧，不謁時貴。工詩、畫，山水師倪瓚，晚出入王蒙、黃公望二家，筆意古質，頗有古氣，亦善墨竹。工漢隸，得蔡邕遺法，師魏受禪碑，簡勁方正中，雅氣逼人。
