Amazing Polychrome Paint Decorated Carved Wood Oversized Mirror Frame w/Dove Birds and Scrolling Roses and Leaves. Ca. first half 20thC. Carved from single pieces of wood, this SA example of folk art is much larger than the pictures would suggest. Excellent condition, intact, sturdy and well carved. Has none of the insect damage sometimes seen with South American wood pieces. The original owner had plans to use cloth, instead of mirror glass, to create a striking headboard for her king-sized bed.
