Huge Albumen, 185th OH- Steps of the OH Statehouse!
Pictured in this large-format (14 x 11) albumen photograph, taken on the steps of the Ohio statehouse at the close of the Civil War, are the leadership and staff of the 185th Ohio Infantry. Interestingly, inscriptions on the reverse identify one of the men as Lt. George H, Beymer and another as “Bob Danner, Grandfather, standing top on step.” Colonel John E. Cummins, who served throughout the war, is among the group. The clarity and artistic quality of this original Civil War photo is impressive.Condition is very good with only minor wear. Tax revenue stamps on verso with pencil inscriptions.
