A VERY FINE SIGNED MINIATURE ICON OF THE KAZANSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH A FILIGREE OKLAD Russian, Moscow, circa 1800 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The haloes gilded, chrysography. Silver oklad set with coloured stones. The reverse depicting the Golgotha Cross before the city of Jerusalem with a Cyrillic inscription: 'To this image prays the Moscow resident Stepan [...] Pskov (?). Painted by the icon painter Yudkov (or Yakov?) Shochkov.' 12.7 x 10.5 cm.
