Beautiful pallasite end cut in which you can see spectacular olivines. One side is polished, with Widmanstatten Patterns and treated for preservation, and the other side showing the exterior of the meteorite Pallasites account for only 1% of meteorite falls. Pallasites are considered by many as the most beautiful type of meteorite. The Imilac meteorite and its crater were discovered in Chile in 1822. Pallasites contain approximately 50% metal (iron and nickel) and 50% silicates (in olivine form) . They come from the inside of large asteroids. They were later destroyed in space by a large impact and fell to Earth as meteorites Pallasites are one of the most beautiful types of meteorites that exist. They are named after the German zoologist and botanist Peter Simon Pallas, who discovered the first specimen of this type of meteorite in Siberia, Russia, in 1772.
