ACTION RIFLE WITH REPRODUCTION BAYONET. Cal. 7.7x58mm Arisaka. S# 85536. Bbl. 26". Series 6 Type 99 bolt action rifle mfg. at the Nagoya Arsenal during World War II. The receiver is marked with a mostly defaced chrysanthemum above Kanji characters denoting the model designation over the chamber, with a Series 6 symbol, followed by the S# and Nagoya arsenal insignia marked on the left receiver wall. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood 2-piece stock and handguard. Non-original black polymer cleaning rod end. Late pattern cylindrical bolt handle. Bolt assembly is locked in place in the receiver and is missing its safety knob, firing pin, and spring. Anti-aircraft rear sight without "wings". Late pattern solid rear bbl. band. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: reproduction bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning that shows through to brown patina and areas of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Stock exhibits scattered marks, dings, and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
