Chippendale Slant Front Desk made from select dense Caribbean Mahogany, the slanted lid concealing a block-fan carved ornately fitted interior, the case having long graduated drawers with lost wax cast brass willow hardware, resting on molded base raised on ogee bracket foot. Attributed to the Goddard Townsend School of Cabinetry, Newport, RI., circa 1760-1790, 32" to writing surface, 42" tall overall, 43" x 23" at base. Fine condition.
