An important and very rare pair of parcel-gilt bronze figures of Bodhisattva, 14th century

l'un représentant Avalokiteshvara assis en maharajalilasana, sa main gauche en avakasha mudra et sa main droite en bhumisparsa mudra, le visage arrondi et serein aux yeux baissés et illuminé d'un doux sourire esquissé de ses fines lèvres délicatement ourlées, les oreilles aux longs lobes embellis de bijoux, les cheveux coiffés d’un simple diadème décoré d’un ornement surmonté d’une représentation d’Amitabha, les cheveux retombant le long des épaules en de longues mèches, vêtu d’une fine robe monastique finement plissée et ornée de motifs floraux incisés en frise sur la bordure, nouée à la taille, laissant apparaitre le torse nu drapé dans un tissu croisé et prolongé en de longues écharpes enroulées autour des bras ; l’autre assis en maharajalilasana, les mains en vitarka mudra, le bras gauche reposant sur une sellette, le visage arrondi et serein aux yeux baissés et illuminé d'un doux sourire esquissé de ses fines lèvres délicatement ourlées, les oreilles aux longs lobes embellis de bijoux, les cheveux coiffés d’un simple diadème orné en son centre d’un ornement fleuronné, les cheveux retombant le long des épaules en de longues mèches, vêtu d’une fine robe monastique finement plissée et ornée de motifs floraux incisés en frise sur la bordure, nouée à la taille et couvrant les épaules, laissant apparaitre le torse nu orné d’un large collier ;

avec deux socles en bois laqué or de forme rectangulaire à ressaut central orné du joyau enflammé de Bouddha, flanqué de deux lions et de piliers en applique, de deux éléphants sur la largeur, entourés d’une double frise de cartouches polylobés et de pétales stylisés

Condition Report:
These rare figures are crisply and heavily cast. There are traces of polychromy to both figures. The face, the torso and the hands are fire gilt.

The left figure:
The head of the Buddha on the crown and some tips of the hair falling on the shoulders are missing. There are also some expected wear to the raised parts, and some scattered casting flaws, including one to the left leg and one to the lower back side of the figure.

The right figure:
There is a casting flaw to the back of the right hand shoulder, a casting flaw to the robe between his leg, and another casting flaw on the right lower leg with an associated crack extending to the upper leg. There are scattered holes/casting flaws to the lower part of the back.
Some of the tips of the hair falling on the shoulders are missing, possibly part of the attribute held on his left hand is missing.

Stands :
There are overall wear, age cracks and flakes to the stands. The pole to the back-right corner is missing for both stands, and some of the floral decoration around the lower border have detached.

彌座：通體可見磨損、裂紋及剝落，與年代相符，屬正常。各座一角落均有一柱飾缺失，最底部紋飾有幾處已與底座分離。
