IMPRESSIVE RUSSIAN SILVER & ENAMEL EGG MOSCOW 1908. A rare Russian gilded silver and plique-à-jour enamel Easter egg and double egg cups. The double egg cups formed almost entirely of translucent plique-à-jour enamel, decorated with brightly-colored arched panels of translucent enamel in shades of strawberry red, turquoise, cerulean blue, navy blue, lavender, and forest green, the exterior ornamented with applied gilded silver cables and pellets, the interiors fitted with screw-in stands for conversion to two egg cups, Hallmarked Moscow 19081-1917 and struck with initials KO of an unidentified workmaster. Height of egg on stand 6.25 inches (15.9 cm), height without 3.5 inches (8.9 cm). Stunning!
