Oblong 8vo (9 x 7 in.; 180 x 215 mm). 36 silver prints (from 5 x 3 in.; 128 x 75 mm, to 6 1/8 x 4 1/8 in.; 156 x 107 mm, and one roundel, 2 1/4 in,; 60 mm in diameter) mounted on leaves and facing letterpress text, images captioned in manuscript; frontispiece creased, some toning, chop to the corner of one image. Original half red morocco over red pebble-grain cloth, upper cover gilt lettered, marbled endpapers; rebacked to style, some soiling, corners bumped with loss, cloth tape to interior joints.

A striking album that neatly pairs images and text, and offers scenes of officers on horseback, artillery, camp life, and views of local scenery.
