INDIAN, CARVED & POLYCHROMED WOODEN ELEPHANT RIDER

Indian, probably early 20th century. A carved wooden elephant figure with three figural riders and a mounted howdah having a polychromed floral decoration to the surface. Apparently unmarked. Approx. h. 20", w. 5.5", d. 12.5". Provenance:From the Private Collection of Mr. Blaine Kelley of Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition Report: Minor polychrome loss to surface commensurate with age and use, several areas of loss including left ear of elephant and finials of howdah also having cracks to surface.
