INTERESTING CAVALRY SABER, PROBABLY MEXICAN.

Iron hilted saber with bird's head pommel, flat knuckleguard, round counterguard, with thee obverse and one reverse branches riveted place. Black leather grip with single copper binding wire and iron back strap. Face of counterguard incised with 6 lines. Single edged curved blade with narrow fuller below upper edge. Deeply engaved borders to fuller and 2 deeply engraved floral panels on either side, between which on 1 side is "Morales" and on the other a word that is difficult to decipher. CONDITION: Good. One significant edge nick on upper, false edge 2" from tip. Hilt has some play. SR Blade Length: 29 - 1/2" Overall Length: 34 - 1/2" Condition: Dimensions: Legnth: 34 - 1/2".
