IRA & ELLA PETERS, POTTERY PLATE, 1976, DIA 7.25"An Ira and Ella Peters signed Pewabic Pottery plate. Having a white clay composition and iridescent glaze boasting oxblood, copper and turquoise tones with observable oxidation. Incised "IRA," "ELLA" and dated "1976" to the underside. Provenance: Collection of Bob Schweizer, 4th generation owner of legendary Detroit based Schweizer's restaurant. Founded in 1862, Mr. Schweizer was a personal friend of Ira and Ella Peters as well as a personal friend of Pewabic Pottery founder, Mary Chase Stratton. Property of Robert Schweizer, Ann Arbor.
