Condition Report:
Canvas is lined. There are some frame abrasions to the vertical edges and a small abrasion to the right of the mother's hand. The surface appears slightly dirty.

Ultraviolet light reveals areas of retouching, including to the mother's dress and near the girl's left arm and legs. Also spots of retouching on the left edge, in the upper-right corner, in the background and to the mother's cheek and girl's hair. Further spots elsewhere.

Held in a gilt plaster frame.
