ISEC 250 STOCK MARKET COMPUTER
ISEC Corporation, Princeton, NJ, circa 1967
Desk-top analog computer with metal face-plate encased in wood paneling (16 ½ x 7 x 9 inches). Housed in a custom carrying case.
A wonderful "solid state electronic analog computer...designed to study mathematical models of problems with changing variables." To operate the machines, the user would enter data on stock prices and market trends using the various dials and switches— the machine would then analyze the market using pre-programmed functions, letting the user know the right time to buy the 2,100 securities that came pre-loaded into the machine. Amusingly, the instruction manual cautions the user to "Read carefully before buying or selling securities."
