ISLAMIC ART, INDO-PERSIAN WORK. Protective AMULET PENDANT, round with multilobed edges, made of celadon jade and set with a central medallion of engraved gilded metal. The design features the name “Allah” inscribed in a circular cartouche at its center, surrounded by a radiating frieze of finely chiseled Thuluth-style Arabic calligraphy expressing religious invocations. On the outer ring, the calligraphy is a stylized version of the shahada (Islamic creed): There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God. It is held in place by a red-and-gold braided cord ending in small beaded tassels. Diameter: 5.5 cm
