"1/6" OR "GB/1F90C" HEXAGON; Attractive 11 May 1872/6 Feb. 1874 E/env. pair sent prepaid with only the internal Peru rate (1 dinero) but then having the British P.O. charges applied in transit. The first ex "Arequipa" "Via Panama" (on PSNC SS Peru II) to France (via London) with 1d Green with a fancy dotted "ISLAY" 'clouds' cancel and a mainly fine British PO "ISLAY" cds on the front as well as a fine London hexagon-boxed "GB/1F90C" and the French "15" delivery charge-mark. The second (by unidentified PSNC steamer to Panama) with fine 4m Peru 1d Green cancelled by a fair "AREQUIPA/-o-" cds but having a very fine British PO "ISLAY" cds alongside as well as a large v. fine h.s.
