Original oil on board landscape by Isaac Ilyich Levitan (1860 – 1900) classical Russian landscape painter who advanced the genre of the "mood landscape". Levitan paintings were exhibited in Moscow and then in St. Petersburg. His works appeared on the covers of Russian language textbooks. A minor planet 3566 Levitan, discovered by Soviet astronomer Lyudmila Zhuravlyova in 1979 is named after him. Condition: very good, signed lower corner, framed measuring 21 x 13 1/2 inches. frame has minor chips on corner edges. This lot has a reserve.
