Condition Report:
Overall the condition of the terracotta is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a slip to the surface which might obscure some condition points. The terracottas are sketches and as such the surface is slightly irregular throughout. There are some minor chips to the surface in areas, including to the locks of hair of a few of the apostles.
There are a few reattachments to some of the figures, including:
- The apostle holding a closed book in his proper left hand: there are restored breaks to both wrists.
- The apostle making a blessing gesture with his proper right hand: the proper right hand has been reattached at the wrist.
There are a few minor losses, including:
- The proper left thumb of the apostle not holding a book.
- The tip of the little finger of the apostle holding a book tucked under his proper right arm.
- The proper left index finger of the apostle reading from an open book held in his proper right arm
The undersides of all the bases are lined with felt.
