ITALIAN AND PORTUGUESE TROMPE L'OEIL HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC FIGURAL FRUIT PLATES, LOT OF FOUR, comprising three Estes examples including one blue floral-decorated plate with four apples having "FOR / TIFFANY" to underside and two leaf-form examples including one with bold cherries and one featuring small strawberries, and one Caldas da Rainha green-glazed basketweave-molded plate with six strawberries. Marks to underside include a green- and black-printed castle with "ESTE" and "MADE IN ITALY", and one impressed "JOSE A[LVARO] / CALDAS / SUCCESSOR". Este Ceramiche Porcellane, Este, Italy; and Alvaro Jose, Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. 20th century. 10 3/4" DOA.
