This watch was produced in a limited edition of 1953 pieces in memory of the famous French naval officer, oceanographer, filmmaker and author Jacques-Yves Cousteau. It was produced 1953 pieces because he published his renowned "The Silent World" that year. He co-invented the first successful open-circuit self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) , called the Aqua-Lung, which assisted him in producing some of the first underwater documentaries.
