Ico Parisi - Desk - Tolomeo
Ico Parisi, large "Tolomeo" desk in walnut wood with double-sided drawers, pull-out under the top and metal tips. Production: MIM Rome, 1962. Ico Parisi was born in Palermo in 1916. He obtained a diploma in construction and served an apprenticeship in Giuseppe Terragni's studio. His activity, marked by continuous experimentation, is an incessant research in the field of architecture, art and design. Between 1948 and 1950, he devoted himself to the study of furnishing elements. In the field of design, the crucial encounters with Munari and Fontana (1951) and Melotti deeply marked his experience. In 1948 he founded "La ruota" studioo with his wife Luisa Aiani, a designer and planner. In 1954 he won the Gold Medal at the 10th Milan Triennale with his "Padiglione Soggiorno" work, with Silvio Longhi and Luigi Antonietti. He died in Como in 1996. The model for auction is in good used condition with some signs of time on the top. Table legs and drawer unit can be reversed from left to right. Dimensions (cm) : H 73 L 180 D 97.
