Icon Depicting Virgin Mary with Saints, late 19th century, Russian, painted in Greece, one panel in the form of a triptych: at the center upper part is depicting Smolenskaya (Virgin Mary with the Child Christ) flanked by two saints; the lower part of the wings are painted with St. George and St. Dimitri and topped by St. Nicholas and St. Triphon, all above a large dedicatory inscription, 8 1/2 x 10 in.
Provenance: The estate of The Reverend Canon Carlson Gerdau, New York, sold to benefit St. Mark's School, Southborough, Massachusetts.
