Antique Russian icon "Guardian Angel with St. Evdokia" from the 19th century. Hand-painted with egg tempera on a wooden board with a chalk background. Typical method of icon production in the 18th and 19th centuries in Tsarist Russia. Relatively detailed paintings. Perfectly coordinated color contrasts and successful shades. The painting contains very authentic, age-related octopuses. The icon was probably made in northern Russia around 1850. Levkas (recess in the wood) present. Both saints are inscribed. The labels are easy to read. Heavy and solid wooden panel, slightly arched. The icon is in good condition with typical age-related signs of wear (see photos) . Partial restorations are present, especially in the upper area of the icon (see photos) . The transverse ponka is missing on the back. Dimensions: 24x20. 5x2. 5 cm It's about a private sale.
