Beautiful antique Russian icon “Mother of God of Fyodorovsk) ” from the second half of the 19th century. Hand-painted with egg tempera colours on a wooden panel with chalk background and on golden primer. Typical method of icon production in the 18th and 19th century Relatively detailed painting. Perfectly matched colour contrasts and accomplished shading. The icon and the saints are labelled. The inscriptions are clearly legible. The icon is in good condition with signs of wear commensurate with age (see photos) . The painting has very authentic craquelure. Partial restorations are present. The icon is slightly curved.
