Icon of Our Lady of Kazan Riza in silver (partial traces of gilding) hallmarks Moscow 1898/1908 Our Lady of Kazan 'is an image of Mary, the mother of Jesus, which takes its name from the city of Kazan'. From an iconographic point of view, it is a variant of the Madonna Hodegetria (here the hands of the Mother of God are excluded from the scene) , in which Christ is depicted standing, in an upright position, with his right hand blessing, while the left is hidden by the folds of the dress. The Mother of God (Theotókos) is depicted up to the shoulders, with her head slightly inclined towards the Child in a gesture of tenderness (according to the iconographic type of Tenderness or Eleousa) .
