Iluminated Silver Bound Judaica Books (2pc)

Two Illuminated Books: (1) "The Illustrated Jerusalem Bible", in Hebrew and English, English Translation by M. Friedlander, first edition published 1958. Dedicated to Congregation B'nai Israel May 31, 1960. Silver toned binding withrepousse border the cover features a raised gilt toned central Decalogue surmounted by a raised sculptural crown. The spine of the cover in Hebrew relief which translates, "Hebrew Bible" ( transliteration: "Tanakh"). Good condition withwear, measures: 9" H x 6" W x 3" D. (2) "The Passover Haggadah", in Hebrew and English, published 1965, written and Illustrated by Arthur Szyk (1894-1951)known for his colorful, vibrant and richly illuminated manuscripts. The coverfeatures a silver tonded binding with illustrated repousse border, a center Decalogue flanked by Heraldic Lions of Judah and surmounted by a crown in relief. Written in Hebrew the top border translates, " And the Lord brought us out fromEgypt" (transliteration, "Ve hotizi'anu HaShem MiMitzrayim") the center title translates, "Passover Haggadah" ("Haggahdah shel Pesach")and bottom border translates, "From slavery to freedom" ("Me'avdut LeCherut").
