Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov Russian Charcoal Introspective on Board. Charcoal introspective by Russian artist Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov (1930 - 2017). The piece is signed and dated 1962 by the artist in charcoal, with the location of Moscow noted as well. Ilya Glazunov was a Russian artist from Saint Petersburg. He was the founder of the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Moscow where he also served as a rector up until his death. He held the title of People's Artist of Russia. Ilya Glazunov's paintings have mostly historic or religious themes. The work is unframed. 23 inches x 32 inches.
