£1,200
Imperial German Mecklemburg-Schwerin Other Ranks Pickelhaube, untouched example of an original leather bodied pickelhaube helmet with original other ranks national and state cockades with leather chinstrap. The helmet has the large state helmet plate for Mecklemburg-Schwerin and the correct large fluted spike. Part of the front trim remains to the front peak. Rear spine to the reverse of the shell. Interior retains the original but well worn leather liner system. No regimental markings visible but no evidence of another plate ever being present on the helmet.
Helmets from Mecklemburg-Schwerin are very rare to find as it was a very small state with only a couple of regiments, compared to Prussia, Saxony and Bavaria etc.
