Description: Important, large, coin-silver pitcher by silversmith Newell Harding and dated 1829 on bottom. The inscription that accompanies the date reads “Matris donum” meaning Mother’s Gift in Latin, and monogrammed PB, possibly the donor or recipient of the gift. The handle features a legless dragon, better known as a Wyrm, grasping the edge of the pitcher in its mouth, and its coiled tail comprising the second attachment point. Gorgeous floral repousse adorns the sides of the base. This incredible piece, nearly 200 years old, is in incredible shape and has no dings, dents, gouges, bends, cracks, or holes, and sits completely flush and flat with absolutely no wobble.
