Description: *Important Sheraton carved and inlaid mahogany secretary bookcase circa 1794-5, finely carved crown with leaves, drapery, tassels and other ornaments, over divided glazed-panel doors centering mirror panels, the lower part with frieze containing secret writing drawer fitted with covered compartments and mechanical writing surface, above two doors, fitted with pullout trays, ending on molded base; H108 1/2" W56 1/2" D22 1/4"

Condition: Condition statement: Two cracked panes of glass on left hand door. Crown has several old repairs to carving. Left hand lower part with shrinkage crack. Old repair to lower part of frieze on bottom drawer. Piece of veneer missing on left side molded base about 3/4" by 3". Old repairs to base. Scratches and scuffs consistent with age and use. Seperation crack on right hand side of crown, with loose molding on corner.
