Important, museum-quality pocket watch with Oriental pearl setting and repeater, probably Bautte & Moynier Geneva, ca. 1830

Ca. Ø47mm, approx. 59g, 18k gold, No.1494, case of outstanding quality, both sides completely set with half Oriental pearls, pendant also, 2 opening buttons, case hinged on both sides, very fine cylinder movement, quarter repeater, rare solid gold dial, finely engine turned, blued Breguet steel hands, in museum condition, intact and with very good sound. These extremely precious pocket watches, which are completely set with Oriental pearls, are absolute rarities. Some of them are signed Bautte & Moynier, the important manufacturer who produced these watches mainly for export to China and the Orient. Of these very few known examples, watches with repeaters are naturally the rarest. One of these watches is in the Patek Philippe Museum and another is in the Girard Perregaux Museum.
