Impressive Ammonite - Arietites sp. - 40×41.5×12 cm

Arietites are a genus of Lower Jurassic ammonites that are perhaps best known from France and Southern Germany and for their often extreme size and beauty. This specimen measures 33 cm across and is, as still can be seen at the base, only the core of a larger individual. This ammonite does not stand on his own and has to lean against a wall. Please note that fossils are nearly always found by splitting vast amount of rocks. This means that most fossils will be glued in some place, most will have a small part chipped away. Professional preparation ensures, that fossils are preserved in a state as close to original as possible. We will deliver every fossil with a Certificate of Authenticity. The fossil will be shipped insured and with tracking number via Colissimo from France. It can of course be collected if preferred.
