In the Manner of William Michael Harnett (American, 1848-1892) Oil on Canvas, "Still Life with Fruit, Wine And Delft Vase", H 9" W 11" | Signed WM Harnett in the lower left. Table top still life with grapes, oranges, a peach, apple, coconut, wine bottle and vase. Having a giltwood and gesso frame, H 17", W 19". Provenance: Property of Prominent Collector, Birmingham, Michigan. DuMouchelle Art Galleries, May 1995, lot #2021: from the collection of W.J. Hughes, Washington DC.

Condition Report: Overall masking varnish fluoresces under UV light. Appears to have been mounted to a larger stretcher. Minor spot of overpaint at the wine bottle. Stretcher impressions. Scuffing with pigment loss at the extreme edges where the canvas meets the frame (obscured by the framing). Two canvas punctures with pigment loss at the pottery vase. Two areas of flaking to the right of the signature. | Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
