For auction a very fine pair of Empire gilded bronze 4 light candelabra ( 'a double usage') on claw feet and green marble 'verde antico' tri-angle base. The work in the manner of Pierre Philippe Thomire Very fine gilded bronze with high quality chiselling. Condition overall very good with some traces of normal use, consistent with age. The mercury gilding excellent, beautiful shine with very slight traces of dirt and rubbing. Very minimal, see photos. The green marble base no scratches or damage. Very little wear to underside of marble. No chips on surface. The top 4 light crown detachable from main candelabra into 1 light. Very nice and rare feature. Height 66 cm. * An related pair of candelabra, signed by Thomire, was sold by Bernaerts, Antwerp, sale 20 March 2018, lot 70.
