An Indian peshkabz dagger - Northern India, probably Lucknow, 19th century Enamel silver grip which also shows a very nice kofgari work (gold decoration inlaid) . Lucknow (India) was the most famous city especialized in indian in this type of enamel silver. This dagger was probably made in this city. The double tips blade refers to Zulfikar, the legendary sword of Ali. The blade is made of watered steel (damascus steel, wootz) but because of age and use, the pattern is not clearly revealed. Good condition. Some small damages at the enamel. Length 37,5cm Length of the blade 24cm Weight 490gr
