A red sandstone head modelled as that of Lord Hanuman, the Hindu monkey god, wearing a tiara with pendants; northern India; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 2.3 kg total, 22cm including stand (8 1/2"). From the collection of Monsieur Pierre Thierriat, acquired 2001; ex Jean-Claude Moreau-Gobard collection; accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Jean-Claude Moreau-Gobard.
